As a professionally licensed manicurist I have been in the beauty industry for many years. After having my own permanent eyeliner done over five years ago I became so interested in permanent cosmetics I began the search for qualified training. It was extremely important to me to learn cosmetic tattooing from experts who have been practicing their art for over 20-30 years. I did not feel comfortable learning from someone who only had been in the industry for a few years themselves. Tattooing faces is too risky to leave to just anyone’s guidance.

I chose to get my initial fundamental permanent makeup training at the Advanced Permanent Cosmetics Academy in Naperville, Illinois. I took a very thorough 100 hour course focusing solely on Eyebrows and Microblading. In addition to being endorsed by the Illinois State Board of Education this training program is also recognized by Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals.  I traveled to Arlington, Texas to train one on one with Vicki Hansen learning Permanent Eyeliner & Lip Procedures. My Areola Restoration training for breast cancer survivors was also taught by Vicki at her Arlington studio with her co instructor, Pam Winnie. Color Theory and choosing the correct pigment shade for clients is a crucial component of any cosmetic tattooing procedure and I attended additional instructional training focusing on LI Pigment Color Education with Christine Comans of Perth, Australia. After having so much instruction about implanting pigment I felt it was important to learn how to eliminate tattoo ink and be able to do corrective work in order to help those who have had mistakes made or those who would like to eliminate their old tattoos for whatever reason, so I trained in LI/FT Pigment Lifting with Teryn Darling who owns Girlz Ink Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Furthering my Permanent Eyeliner skills I took advantage of having the opportunity to train with world renown, Will Anthony of Port Charlotte, Florida learning his trademarked “Advanced Smoky Lash Enhancement” eyeliner technique.

I am looking forward to advancing my education with additional training in new eyebrow, eyeliner, and lip procedures, as well as scalp micropigmentation. This fall, I will be adding microneedling for facial treatments, scar tissue reduction and stretch mark camouflaging,  The Permanent Cosmetic industry is growing and changing constantly. I feel not only is it important but imperative to continue learning the newest and latest techniques and products improving my skills with the most experienced instructors and experts so I can continue to offer my clients the safety and satisfaction of receiving the best possible permanent cosmetic artistry I can.
